Glass spec
All glass for architectural applications complies with current safety regulations and is usually either toughened or laminated. The thickness of the glass is determined by the overall size of the panel.
An invisible protective coating is applied to the sandblasted surface in order to repel stains and finger marks, or it can be sealed inside a double glazed unit.
All the glass on this website is designed and made individually to your specification - almost anything that can be drawn with a pen can be styled and recreated as a design on glass.
The technique I use is traditional and very simple but executed in a highly skillful way. It is the beautiful, distinctive imagery that creates the feature, and the method of application that fulfills the function. The 'carved' 3d surface adds a further dimension to the visual impact.
Without the use of colour, the critical elements of a successful piece of architectural sandblasted glass lies in the interplay between transparent, translucent and reflective surfaces. In fact, one of it’s benefits is the way in which it can be used in situations where light and privacy are required in a controlled and subtle way.
Sandblasted glass can effect atmosphere, control light and create shadows, and in conjunction with the correct lighting can create a dramatic impact within a space
Whether you are looking for a unique, large scale glass screen or feature windows and doors which will transmit light in to your space, Caroline can design and make bespoke etched glass to your needs.
