'personal, unique and functional glazing solutions, individually designed and created to add a stunning artistic statement to any space'
These close up images illustrate in detail the difference between the two types of glass finishes.
The surface etched glass on the left is designed to be decorative; it offers a degree of privacy yet transmits light and casts beautiful shadows.
In addition to this effect, the sample on the right includes elements of imagery which have been 'carved' to give an interesting 3d finish and create glass that is more opaque for a greater degree of privacy.
The decoration is sandblasted onto the glass, and is colourless and permanent.
The technique I use is traditional
and very simple but executed in a highly skillful way. It
is the beautiful, distinctive patterns that create the feature, and the method of application that
fulfills the function.
All the
glass on this website is designed and made individually by
hand - almost anything that can be drawn with a pen can
be styled and recreated as a design on glass to your specification.
The glass complies with current saftey regulations and is usually either toughened or laminated.
An invisible protective coating
will repel stains and finger marks or the decorated side of the glass can be sealed inside a double glazed unit.
