Case Study

Commissions usually begin with an informal chat or email about what you want.
We’ll talk about the practical and aesthetic requirements of your glass - what style you have in mind, where it's to be located, the size of the glass, if it needs to provide privacy or is it to be purely decorative, what kind of glass will be used, when you need it and your budget.

From this first discussion I can give you an estimate of the price. If this acceptable and you wish to proceed with the commission, then you may wish to order a sample of the glass before we talk about your project in more detail.
The sample is designed to be placed in the position of your glass to give you a good idea of the final effect, and  to make sure you're happy with the quality of the product.

At this stage I’ll ask you to make a deposit of 50% of the final cost. Within a couple of weeks I’ll send you some drawings and a detailed specification for you to sign off before I schedule the work.

You will be kept informed of the progress at every stage, and you will receive regular e-mail updates as the project takes shape.

The design, making and finishing of the glass requires time and expertise and you should allow about 6 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the project. I will however endeavour to meet all reasonable deadlines.

The following images illustrate the progression from drawings to finished glass of commissioned panels for The Crown Hotel, Woodbridge. Sections of he design on the large glass panels were also used for decorating the external windows with film.

Interior designers Bentheim completely redesigned the interior and exterior of The Crown Hotel in 2009.
